The construction of the HUMO ARENA multifunctional ice complex was initiated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017, as part of the program to support the realization of the potential of the young generation for 2017-2021. On February 3, 2017, the foundation stone of the multifunctional ice palace was laid at the intersection of Afrosiab and Beshagach Streets. The ceremony was attended by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and marked the beginning of the complex's construction.
HUMO ARENA is designed to host official events, competitions, exhibitions and concerts at international level. It's located in the city of Tashkent.
The complex's arena has a capacity of 12,500 seats and is built on the "transformer" principle. This allows the arena to change the seating arrangement depending on the event:
- International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and National Hockey League (NHL) ice hockey matches;
- Figure skating competitions, including those at the international level;
- Competitions in combat sports (wrestling, boxing, tae kwon do, etc.) and games (basketball, volleyball, handball, futsal, etc.), including international competitions;
- Training and comprehensive athlete preparation;
- National holidays;
- Concerts, shows, commercial and social cultural events;
- Exhibitions, forums, presentations, conferences, including international ones.
