Air Marakanda

On March 18, 2022, Samarkand International Airport opened a new terminal.

The project was delivered on a PPP basis by our partners Air Marakanda and Uzbekistan Airports.

One of the project's contractors was Enter Engineering, a company that uses the services of HRBG on a regular basis. The terminal was designed by the Turkish company Kiklop.

Uzbekistan Airways HY-045 became the first flight to use the services of the new terminal. Representatives of various ministries, agencies and mass media outlets arrived on board the flight to take part in the opening ceremony.

The terminal features 29 check-in counters, 8 boarding gates, 4 telescopic gangways, 10 passport control booths and 6 E-gates for departing passengers, as well as 15 passport control booths for arriving passengers.

With the opening of the new terminal, the number of scheduled flights will grow from 40 to 120, while the number of aircraft parking spaces has increased to 24.

In 2023, the route network will expand to include several new destinations such as Sharjah and Krasnoyarsk. In the years 2023-2024 the airport will explore the introduction of new routes, among others to Sochi and Novosibirsk.
